Power Finance Corporation Ltd. is an Indian financial institution. established in 1986, it is the financial back bone of Indian power sector. PFC is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The company has been conferred with many prestigious awards, the latest of which is "KPMG-Infrastructure Today Award 2008" for its contribution in development of power sector. It is also an ISO 9001:2000 certified company and enjoys the status of Navratna company in India.
PFC wanted to refresh its existing compute infrastructure on which SAP ERP application and Microsoft Email messaging had been deployed. They wanted to install the next generation infrastructure which would be scalable, more energy efficient and would be able to support the extra computing loads of its SAP ERP modules and the MS messaging application. The existing compute infrastructure was to be upgraded at Delhi and at Chennai data centers. It required a trusted supplier with proven experience in supporting the implementation of leading edge Server/storage farm technologies with ability to provide migration services for its applications on the existing Microsoft/Oracle and SAP platforms.
PFC mandated CCS to supply, install, configure hardware, software and provide migration services to redeploy their existing SAP ERP application and Microsoft Messaging at their data centers in Delhi and Chennai, onto the new compute infrastructure. The CCS team migrated the existing deployment of Microsoft messaging and SAP ERP working on Oracle to the new virtualized environment with provision of built in replication services.
Provided redeployment of Email and ERP application onto new generation Dell rack mounted servers computing infrastructure with virtualization.
Dell/EMC storage solution provided data compression, de-duplication and reliable data replication with lower network use.
Strong CCS and Dell/EMC working relationship ensured highly efficient implementation and operational support including responsiveness to general, technical, training enquiries.
